Roselyn Bi

Founder

Through coaching refugee youth at a summer soccer camp and tutoring refugee students, I realized an often-overlooked need: support for the social-emotional wellbeing of newly arrived immigrant youth—and that’s how Tulip’s Promise was born. In my free time I enjoy biking, spending time with family and friends, and occasionally performing at local comedy clubs.

Chinonye Chibo

Nigeria Chapter President

I wanted to start a Tulip’s Promise chapter to help spread the mission of belonging and creativity to youth around the world. I feel deeply about helping youth feel seen and connected through art and community. In my free time, I love art, design, and sewing — they’re my favourite ways to express culture and share stories.

Muhammad Fasih

Pakistan Chapter President

I wanted to start a Tulip’s Promise chapter in Pakistan because it is a country where 26.2 million children are not attending school and lack access to basic education. To support these children, I plan to collaborate with different NGOs and orphanage centres located in Lahore and work alongside them to provide English learning resources and educational support. In my free time, I enjoy walking with my mother and playing football.

I started this chapter because I want to be part of a community that supports refugees and immigrants children and helps them feel valued and safe. I’m excited to learn how to make a positive impact and work with others who care about helping youth. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing volleyball, and watching series shows.

Illinois Chapter President

I wanted to start a chapter after I heard about the mission, and how it turns compassion into a real impact. I want to bring the same energy to my community, where I’m sure a lot of people want to help but don’t always know where to start. In my free time, I enjoy reading and cooking.

Georgia Chapter President

I wanted to join Tulip's Promise, after seeing the message and different projects that the organization has accomplished to spread across different states. Many friends of mine are refugees, and I have not seen organizations such as Tulip's Promise that make the moving process through creative ideas such as artwork. During my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and spending time with my friends and family.

Maddie Lee

Alabama Chapter President

As a child of immigrants myself, intersecting culture and language have always been a huge part of my life. I want to make sure other students who may be struggling with learning about American norms and the English language in Alabama feel welcomed through judgement-free education. In my free time, I like to scrapbook and play piano!

Dharshan Vijayakumar

Minnesota Chapter President

I wanted to take this role as I saw the positive impacts it has on the community. Being in this role allows me to help people in my community even if I don’t meet them in person. Being a new student in a community is not an easy experience, and I feel that if I am able to create these handbooks I can help make the experience for so many students much better.

Program Co-Director

I joined Tulip’s Promise because, as an immigrant with parents who were unfamiliar with the U.S. education system, I had to navigate everything on my own. I want to help make that journey easier for others. With Tulip’s Promise, students can gain a better understanding of the system in a way that feels accessible, empowering them to succeed rather than feel lost or isolated. I’m passionate about sewing, and in my free time, I enjoy reading and baking.

The aim of Tulip’s Promise is to help vulnerable youth and foster a community of togetherness and compassion; being a part of this team to help reach that end goal means a lot to me as a student looking to see that change in my own community. In my free time I love to dance, draw, and play with my cat.

To me, Tulip’s Promise is about creating a proactive initiative in support of child refugees. I joined because I saw an organization with an interest that deserved to be shared and appreciated. My passion is helping my community like volunteering with Red Cross and Key Club has honed my ability to not only organize and execute campaigns but also to inspire and mobilize others towards a common goal.
